Sri Lanka have named a 17-member squad for the upcoming women’s tri-nation ODI series against India and South Africa, set to begin on 27 April in Colombo.
The team, led by Chamari Athapaththu, features several changes from the side that recently lost 2-0 in New Zealand, with 3 uncapped players included.
Spinner Malki Madara, who impressed in the T20Is against New Zealand, receives her first ODI call-up, while Piumi Wathsala and Dewmi Vihanga also join the squad.
The series is seen as crucial preparation for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 in India.
Sri Lanka will look to use the home advantage to bounce back and fine-tune their combinations ahead of the global tournament.
