The Commissioner-General of Essential Services, B.K. Prabhath Chandrakeerthi, has issued guidelines to reduce fuel consumption across the public sector’s 92,000 vehicles.

If each vehicle saves 1 litre per day, daily savings could reach 92,000 litres, or 110 million litres annually.

All state institutions are instructed to run fuel-saving programmes and awareness sessions for officials and drivers to implement these measures effectively.
