The Department of Meteorology has warned that conditions are becoming favourable for afternoon thundershowers in several parts of Sri Lanka from tomorrow (1).

Today (30), showers or thundershowers are expected in parts of Uva, Eastern and Central provinces and Polonnaruwa and Mullaitivu, particularly after 1 p.m. Fairly heavy showers exceeding 50mm are possible in some areas.

A few showers may occur in coastal areas of the Western Province and Galle and Matara during the morning, while misty conditions are expected in parts of Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces.

The public has been advised to take precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
