The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has proposed a 1.46% electricity tariff increase for the October–December 2026 quarter, following a preliminary review of the National System Operator’s proposal.

The National System Operator had initially requested a 2.88% increase, citing a projected revenue deficit of Rs. 4.4 billion.

The PUCSL has launched a public consultation to obtain feedback before making its final decision.
