The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau has launched the “Shipwrecks around Sri Lanka” website in Colombo on 12 March, with support from the Sri Lanka Navy.

The platform features details of 70 shipwrecks across Sri Lankan waters, including sites from the Mughal era, colonial period and World Wars.

The Sri Lanka Navy Diving and Salvage Unit contributed through underwater surveys, photography and data collection.

The portal also provides safety guidelines for diving and aims to support maritime heritage and tourism.
