The Cabinet has approved a Rs. 250 million program under the 2025 budget to address rising suicide rates, drug addiction, and psychosocial issues among Sri Lankan youth.
The Ministry of Health and Mass Media, in collaboration with the Ministries of Education (MOE), Higher Education, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB), National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH), and health services, will launch a medium-term awareness and consultative program targeting schoolchildren and young adults.
