Colombo’s overall inflation rate, as measured by the year-on-year (y-o-y) change in the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI), rose slightly to -0.6% in June, compared to -0.7% in May, according to the latest data released by the Department of Census and Statistics.

The y-o-y inflation of the food group eased to 4.3% in June, down from 5.2% in May. Meanwhile, the non-food group inflation rate improved to -2.8% in June, compared to -3.3% in the previous month.
