The Government has launched special measures to ensure the safety of foreign tourists in Sri Lanka and the welfare of Sri Lankan migrant workers overseas amid unrest in the Middle East.
A free 14-day visa extension has been granted to tourists currently in the country.
Authorities are also exploring alternative flight routes to assist affected travellers.
Meanwhile, 24-hour support units have been activated, with tourists able to seek assistance via the 1912 hotline and migrant workers through the 1989 hotline.
