A Maradana business owner has been fined Rs. 100,000 by the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court after six packaged Thai robes were found on sale without mandatory consumer information.

The Consumer Affairs Authority found the packages lacked details including the maximum retail price, manufacturer or importer information and date of manufacture.

The CAA has urged consumers to check product information and retain receipts when purchasing Thai robes and Atapirikara.
