The Supreme Court’s determination on petitions challenging the 22nd Amendment to the Constitution is expected to be announced in Parliament by the Speaker tomorrow (22).

More than 65 petitions were filed challenging the 22nd Amendment Bill and the Judicial Amendment Bill. The petitions were heard by a five-member Supreme Court bench headed by the Chief Justice on 1 and 2 September.

The parliamentary debate on the 22nd Amendment Bill is scheduled for 24 and 25 September.
