A.K.S. Indika Kumari Liyanage has made history as the first woman appointed Commissioner General of Examinations in Sri Lanka.
She officially assumed duties today (15) as the 11th person to hold the position, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s education sector.
Liyanage, a Special Grade officer in the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service, previously led key divisions at the Examinations Department and held leadership roles at D.S. Senanayake College.
An alumna of Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya, Galle, she holds degrees from the Universities of Ruhuna, Colombo, and Kelaniya.
