The Government will introduce a uniform curriculum for all preschools across Sri Lanka starting in 2026, Prime Minister (PM) and Minister of Education Harini Amarasuriya announced at the Parliamentary Sub-Committee on Education Reforms.
She stated that the Early Childhood Development curriculum framework is complete, and training for nearly 90,000 preschool teachers will begin on November 25, 2025, across all provinces.
The Prime Minister also stressed that no schools will be closed, and that the government aims to modernize and develop schools through consolidation, ensuring equal learning opportunities and a higher quality education system for every child.
