Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa has urged his son, SLPP MP Namal Rajapaksa, to trust the judiciary and refrain from political revenge in a letter written while Namal remains in remand custody.
Recalling his own experience in politics, Mahinda advised his son not to hold children responsible for their parents’ actions and not to target people who received employment opportunities under his administration.
He also urged Namal to follow the principle of avoiding revenge if he eventually comes to power, stating that it was a tradition of the Rajapaksa family.
