The French Ambassador met Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva today(13), to discuss bilateral ties and Sri Lanka's reform programme.

Ambassador Lambert commended President Anura Dissanayake and the National People’s Power (NPP) administration for the progress achieved in their first year, noting the post-election period had remained peaceful. 

He praised the government's efforts to curb corruption and ensure transparency.

Lambert pledged France's support for initiatives on women’s rights and sustainable marine resource management. 

Silva affirmed the NPP's priorities of strengthening the economy and ensuring stability heading into 2026.
