Sri Lanka has recorded 35,228 dengue cases and 20 dengue-related deaths so far in 2026, according to the Director of the National Dengue Control Unit, Dr. Kapila Kannangara.
The highest number of cases has been reported from the Western Province, particularly the Colombo District.
Most cases have been concentrated in Colombo, Gampaha, Ratnapura, Matara, Galle and Kandy districts.
Health authorities say increased rainfall across the island has contributed to the rise in dengue infections.
