The overall inflation rate in Colombo increased to 5.5% in May 2026 from 5.4% in April, according to the Department of Census and Statistics (DCS).

The figure is based on the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI).

Food inflation fell to 0.9% in May from 2.8% in April.

Non-food inflation rose to 7.8% in May, up from 6.8% in April.
