The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds and rough seas from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota sea areas.

Winds of 50–60 kmph are expected, with sea conditions turning rough at times.

Naval and fishing communities have been advised to stay alert and follow further weather updates.
