A Gazette Extraordinary has been issued to convene a special sitting of Parliament on Monday (30), at 9:30 a.m., as announced by Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne.

The session, requested by the Prime Minister (PM) and approved by the Committee on Parliamentary Business, will be held under Standing Order 16.

This special sitting is scheduled to facilitate the presentation of the government’s revenue strategy statement, as required under the State Finance Management Act, No. 44 of 2024.

The Minister of Finance is expected to present the fiscal strategy, followed by an adjournment debate continuing until 4:30 p.m. the same day.
