Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, Bimal Rathnayake, met with Eng. Suliman bin Khalid Al-Mazroua, President of the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI), in Jeddah to discuss strengthening maritime and port cooperation.

Minister Rathnayake highlighted Sri Lanka’s strategic location and invited Saudi investors to explore opportunities in its port and maritime sectors. 

Both sides agreed to enhance collaboration on international platforms like the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and to explore cooperation in seafarer training.
