President to attend India–AI Impact summit 2026 in New Delhi

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will attend the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from 16 to 20 February, at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.


Hosted by the Government of India, the Summit is centred on three key pillars People, Planet and Progress reflecting India’s vision for international cooperation on Artificial Intelligence (AI).


The high-level forum will bring together global leaders, policymakers, innovators and experts to discuss the future of AI and its role in promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.


President Dissanayake is among 20 world leaders expected to participate. Other confirmed attendees include Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan; President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil; President Emmanuel Macron of France; President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia; President Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia; President Guy Parmelin of Switzerland; Prime Minister Dick Schoof of the Netherlands; and Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates.


Ministerial delegations from more than 45 countries, along with the United Nations Secretary-General and senior representatives of several international organisations, are also expected to attend.


The Summit will focus on global governance frameworks for AI, responsible innovation, and the use of emerging technologies to advance sustainable development worldwide.
