Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala clinched the ‘A’ Division championship title at the 32nd Sri Lanka Schools Netball tournament, which was held at the Maligapitiya Grounds in Kurunegala recently.

Organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Netball Association under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and sponsored by Nestle Milo, the championship witnessed participation of over 4,000 young netball players from across the country.

The championship was played in two divisions (‘A’ and ‘B’ Division) encompassing four varying age groups, including Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 age groups.

Division ‘A’ overall champions: Maliyadeva Balika Vidyalaya, Kurunegala. Runners-up: Musaeus College

Division ‘A’ Most Outstanding Players: (Under-13): Ahasi Sanduli – Tissa MMV, Kalutara. (Under-15): Chenumi de Silva – Maliyadeva Balika. (Under-17): Shiwangi Samarawickrama – Musaeus. (Under-19): Tumalka Ekanayake – Maliyadeva Balika

Division ‘B’ overall champions: Sujatha Balika Vidyalaya, Matale. Runners-up: Molaelapitiya Primary School, Kuliyapitiya.
