Air quality in several areas across Sri Lanka has been recorded at slightly unhealthy levels, according to the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO).
The affected areas include Jaffna, Vavuniya, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ratnapura, Embilipitiya, Puttalam and Mullaitivu.
The NBRO expects the Sri Lanka Air Quality Index to range between 88 and 120 over the next 24 hours, with most urban areas remaining at moderate levels.
Badulla and Polonnaruwa are also expected to experience slightly unhealthy air quality. Peak pollution levels are likely between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and again between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. today (30).
