The Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers’ Union has sent a letter to Minister of Energy Kumara Jayakody outlining its position on electricity sector issues and the ongoing trade union action.

The union noted that 25 CEB-affiliated trade unions launched the action from 3.00 p.m. on Monday (9) after negotiations over employee rights failed.

It also stated that discussions with board members of successor companies were held yesterday (10), with unresolved matters expected to be taken up with the Minister.
