- Ahead of LPL Season Six
Colombo Kaps have announced that the franchise will come under the ownership of Witness Sports Alliance LLC, led by Saranyan Palaniswamy and K C Shyam Kangayan, ahead of Lanka Premier League Season Six.
The new ownership marks a significant step for the franchise as Colombo Kaps prepare to compete in one of Sri Lanka’s leading T20 cricket tournaments.
Under Witness Sports Alliance LLC, the franchise said it aims to build a competitive, commercially focused and fan-oriented team representing Colombo’s cricket culture and sporting identity.
As part of its early squad strategy, Colombo Kaps have pre-signed Kusal Mendis and Kamindu Mendis ahead of the upcoming season.
The franchise said both players bring international experience, match-winning capability and strong recognition among Sri Lankan cricket supporters.
Welcoming the new ownership, Lanka Premier League Director Samantha Dodanwela said, “Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) welcomes Witness Sports Alliance LLC as the new ownership group of Colombo Kaps for Lanka Premier League Season 6. Colombo is an important cricketing centre, and we are pleased to see committed owners stepping forward to support the continued growth of the league.”
