The Department of Meteorology says several spells of showers are expected today (20) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North Western provinces, and the Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Showers or thundershowers may also occur in parts of the Uva and Eastern provinces and the Mullaitivu district after 2.00pm.

The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
