Minister K.D. Lal Kantha announced that Vraie Cally Balthazaar will be the next Mayor of Colombo, with formalities pending. 

He stated that National People’s Power (NPP) has secured control of the Colombo Municipal Council (CMC) and will continue collaborating with other political groups to expand its presence in local bodies.
