The Court of Appeal of Sri Lanka has deferred further consideration of a writ petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa until 3 August 2026.

The petition seeks an order preventing his arrest and detention under the Prevention of Terrorism Act in connection with investigations into the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks.
