The recent arrest of five notorious Sri Lankan underworld figures in Indonesia is a significant victory in the fight against organized crime. 

According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arun Hemachandra, this success was a direct result of strong cooperation between the Sri Lanka Police, the Indonesian Police, and the Government of Indonesia.

The arrested suspects, identified as Kehelbaddara Padme, Commando Salinda, Backhoe Saman, Panadura Nilanga, and Thembili Lahiru, were captured during a joint operation by Sri Lanka's Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Jakarta Police.

Hemachandra emphasized that this achievement highlights the current government's policy of using diplomacy and global partnerships to uphold the rule of law.
