Main Parliamentary Opposition Party, the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) Chairperson Imthiaz Bakeer Markar has stepped down from his position as the Chairperson and from all other posts in the party.

He has reportedly sent his letter of resignation to the Party Leader cum Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and the Secretary General.
