The Sri Lanka Transport Board has deployed additional buses for the Sinhala and Tamil New Year travel season.

SLTB Chairman Sajeewa Kanakarathna stated that special services are operating from Colombo to outstations until 13 April, and return services from 15 to 21 April.

Around 1,500 buses have been added for the operation, with nearly 1,490 buses dispatched from Colombo within 24 hours.

He noted that buses are being allocated based on passenger demand, with departures every 20 minutes from the Colombo Central Bus Stand.
