The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) plans to open three new rehabilitation and treatment centers in Matara, Kurunegala, and Batticaloa by the end of this year.

Each center will house around 120 individuals, offering comprehensive care and recovery programs.

A special youth rehabilitation center for those under 21 will also be set up in Peradeniya, Kandy, with construction starting early next year and operations expected to begin by January 2026
