Minister of Energy Anura Karunathilaka has stated that plans are underway to establish additional fuel stations operated by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) to ease fuel supply issues in Sri Lanka.
He noted that private fuel suppliers had reduced supplies due to losses, prompting the CPC to increase its share of the market from 55% to 80%.
The Minister stated that new CPC fuel stations are expected to help reduce difficulties for consumers during future fuel supply disruptions. He also urged private suppliers to remain patient until the current crisis subsides.
