The Colombo Magistrate’s Court has remanded 8 suspects arrested in connection with the murder of two brothers in the Grandpass police division until 27 March.
The suspects were arrested by Grandpass Police and presented before Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Thilakaratne today (17).
Police requested remand as investigations continue, while defense lawyers sought orders for the suspects' security in prison.
The victims were hacked to death on 15 March during a violent clash between two groups in the Weheragodella area. The brothers died from severe injuries at the Colombo National Hospital.
Grandpass Police arrested the 8 suspects in Wellampitiya on the night of 16 March.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
