Portuguese Minister of State and Foreign Affairs meets with Prime Minister

The Minister of State and Foreign Affairs of Portugal, Paulo Rangel, met with Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya at the Prime Minister’s Office for bilateral discussions.


The meeting, held yesterday (24), focused on exploring potential collaborations across various sectors of mutual interest. Emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation in the tourism industry, according to the Prime Minister’s Media Division.


Climate change and its impacts were also extensively discussed, highlighting shared vulnerabilities and the importance of collective action.


The Prime Minister outlined opportunities for collaboration in education, particularly in research, innovation, and technology development.


The Portuguese delegation included João Ribeiro de Almeida, Ambassador of Portugal to Sri Lanka; Alexandra Bilreiro, Deputy Political Director at Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and Filipe Ramalho Ortigão, Chief of Staff to the Minister.
