The Department of Meteorology (DoM) says showers will occur at times in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, and in Galle, Matara, Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts today.

Showers or thundershowers may develop after 1.00 p.m. in the Uva Province and in Ampara and Batticaloa districts.

Winds of 30–40 kmph are expected in parts of the Northern, North-Central, North-Western and Southern provinces, and in Trincomalee District.

The public has been advised to take precautions against strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
