The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber weather advisory for strong winds, effective for 24 hours from 11.00 a.m. today(28)
The advisory covers seven provinces, including Western, Central, Southern, and Northern, along with the Trincomalee and Batticaloa districts.
Strong winds of 50–60 kilometres per hour (kmph) are expected due to the Cyclonic Storm Montha in the Bay of Bengal.
The public is requested to take necessary precautions to minimise potential damage caused by the severe weather.
