The Metro Bus service will be expanded across Colombo from tomorrow (29), with 121 buses deployed under the programme, Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake stated.

The service will operate on scheduled routes, stopping only at designated locations, with drivers and conductors required to follow traffic regulations.

A bus priority lane will also be introduced, with one of three lanes reserved for public transport from 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
