Exams: Special notice on O/L admission cards

The Examinations Department has issued a special notice regarding the issuance of admission cards for the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level (O/L) Examination of last year (2025) to be held this year (2026).

The Examinations Commissioner General Indika Kumari Liyanage noted that candidates can download or make changes to the admission cards for the Examination until midnight on 10 February. Accordingly, private candidates who need to make changes to their admission cards must visit the official website, enter their National Identity Card number, and make the necessary corrections.

Liyanage stated that the period granted to make changes will not be extended.

The Examination will be held from 17 to 26 February at 3,545 Examination centres across the country.

Admission cards for school candidates sitting for this year’s Examination have already been issued to the relevant schools through the Zonal Education Offices. Accordingly, all principals must collect the admission cards from the Deputy / Assistant Director of Education in charge of examinations at their respective Zonal Education Offices. Admission cards for private candidates will be sent by post to their personal residential addresses. If there are any corrections required in the admission cards of school candidates, principals should log in to the Department website www.doenets.lk using the username and password provided to them, and make the necessary amendments.

Meanwhile, the practical examination for the Biosystems Technology subject for the 2025 GCE Advanced Level (A/L) Examination will commence on 7 February. The Examination will be held until 11 February at 74 examination centres across the country. Accordingly, the application forms of school candidates have been sent to the respective school principals, while the admission cards of private candidates have been dispatched by post to their personal addresses. Candidates who have not received their admission cards can download them from the official website of the Department.
