CCC and Bloomfield were adjudged joint champions after their Under-23 Inter Club Cricket Final ended in a draw at the SSC Grounds on Wednesday (24).

Batting first, CCC posted a competitive 361 for 8 declared in 106 overs. Skipper Anjala Bandara stood out, compiling a superb 143 off 259 balls with 19 boundaries. 

Bloomfield’s left-arm medium pacer Mihiranga Nimsara impressed with 4 for 78, while leg-spinner Nisala Abeyrathne claimed 3 for 64.

In response, Bloomfield reached 169 for 4 in 54 overs when the match fizzled into a tame draw. 

Skipper Mineth Premarathne top scored with 55 including seven boundaries, while Savindu Rodrigo contributed an unbeaten 53, also hitting 7 fours. Duvindu Ranathunga took 2 for 38 for CCC.
