Sri Lanka has reported 50,459 dengue cases and 30 deaths so far this year, according to the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU).
Community Physician Specialist Prashila Samaraweera said mosquito density remains high and warned that cases could increase further during the long weekend.
Health officials urged the public to eliminate mosquito breeding sites and advised anyone with a fever lasting more than two days to seek medical attention and undergo a blood test.
