The Department of Meteorology has issued a Red Warning for strong winds and rough seas in deep-sea areas of the Bay of Bengal.

Winds in warning areas may reach 70 kmph, with heavy thundershowers and very rough seas expected.

Naval and fishing communities have been advised not to venture into the affected sea areas until further notice.

Those already at sea have been advised to move away from the affected areas and monitor weather updates.
