A new ward complex at Kataragama District Hospital was inaugurated on 12 June, built with Rs. 33 million in donations from devotees of the Ruhunu Kataragama Maha Devalaya.

Health Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, along with Deputy Minister R.M. Jayawardena and Basnayake Nilame Dilshan Gunasekara participated in the opening ceremony.

The facility includes general and maternity wards, a modern sanitation system, and improved staff accommodations, offering a major boost to local healthcare.
