Sri Lanka’s overall inflation rate increased to 4.7% in April 2026, up from 2.4% recorded in March, according to the Department of Census and Statistics.
The increase was measured on a year-on-year basis using the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI).
Food inflation rose to 1.1% in April from 0.7% in March.
Non-food inflation also increased to 7.8% from 3.8% during the same period.
