Sri Lanka's Susal de Silva won the Gold Medal in the Under 18 category at the Asian Youth Chess Championships.
Susal de Silva is a student of Nalanda College, Colombo.
He also won the National Open Chess Championship this year.
The 2023 Asian Youth Chess Championships was held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and chess players from 53 countries participated in the tournament.
