Farmers affected by recent heavy rains will receive compensation of up to Rs. 100,000 per hectare, the Ministry of Agriculture stated.
Compensation will be provided for damage to crops including paddy, maize, potatoes, soya beans, chillies and big onions.
Farmers have been instructed to report damaged cultivations within 14 days through Agrarian Service Centres.
The Ministry also noted that no insurance premium will be charged from farmers for the compensation scheme.
