The government has launched an inclusive education programme to allow children with special needs, including those with autism and neurological disorders, to learn alongside other preschool children.

Minister Saroja Savithri Paulraj said the programme was introduced with the support of the Department of Social Services to move away from separating children with special needs from mainstream education.

The initiative includes training preschool teachers to support children with special needs and expand access to early childhood education.
