Sri Lanka Police has implemented a special traffic and security plan for today’s (15) 2026 T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.
The match is scheduled to begin at 7.00 p.m., with gates opening at 3.00 p.m. All tickets have been sold out.
Around 2,000 police officers and nearly 600 traffic personnel have been deployed. The Police Special Task Force, Tri-Forces and intelligence agencies are supporting operations.
Police stated that only authorised vehicles with permits issued by Sri Lanka Cricket will be allowed access via designated routes.
Traffic restrictions will be enforced on several roads around the stadium. Designated public parking areas have been allocated.
Large bags, helmets, jackets, alcohol, glass or plastic bottles, musical instruments, drones, sharp objects and unauthorised electronic devices are prohibited.
Police stated that CCTV monitoring, body inspections and vehicle checks will be conducted.
Those without tickets are advised not to gather near the stadium and to watch the match via television broadcasts.
