The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) has filed an indictment against former Minister Chandrani Bandara before the Colombo High Court.

She is accused of abusing her position by unlawfully appointing H.M. Chandrawansa as Project Director of the Ministry of Dry Zone Development and influencing other appointments in violation of legal procedures.

The charges stem from actions taken between 14 and 31 January, 2019, under the Bribery Act.

According to reports, 8 witnesses and 25 supporting documents have been submitted as part of the prosecution's case.
