The Meteorology Department reports that the Intertropical Convergence Zone is continuing to affect Sri Lanka’s weather.
Showers or thundershowers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces after 1.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy rainfall above 50 mm is likely in parts of Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, and the Ampara district.
Morning showers may also occur in the Western Province and in the Galle and Matara districts.
The public is advised to take precautions against localized strong winds, lightning, and morning mist in several areas.
