Colombo High Court Judge Udesh Ranatunga recently issued notice to Tamim Rahman, the match-fixing accused and owner of the Dambulla Thunders franchise, to appear in court on 12 November to formally receive the summons. Rahman is a Bangladesh-born British citizen.
Attorney General (AG) Parinda Ranasinghe Jr. has filed indictments in the High Court against Rahman in connection with an alleged match-fixing incident during last year’s edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) T20 cricket tournament.
The charges stem from allegations of fixing during the LPL player auction, held at a five-star hotel in Colombo ahead of the tournament.
Rahman, who is currently out on bail, had previously been questioned in connection with the case.
